Online registration:
Various states have their web portals for online registration of job seekers and information of employers. However, there is no centralized portal to register unemployed youths and provide job information in their respective states or districts. Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee announced in his budgetary speech that India will have a centralized web portal using which any job seeker can access any employment exchange of state or country and can apply for the job. In an attempt to provide a single platform to meet the supply and demand of employment market in the country, the Ministry of Labor and Employment is planning to develop a national web portal with common software for employment exchanges. The beta version is expected to go live before end of this year. In Tamilnadu, professionally qualified candidates, can register their names either through their respective district employment exchanges or also register their names by filling the necessary application by downloading it from www.employment.tn.gov.in and send the form after taking a print out of filled form by registered post to the Professional and Executive Employment Exchange, Santhome, Chennai – 4. Any additional qualifications can be added to their existing resume by sending a photocopy of the certificate along with a copy of their registration card to the exchange. Renewal (three years) of the registration can also be done online through the website.
